ERA 2000 - Bridge over Tsugaru strait

This project will give a solution for crossing the strait between Honshu and Hokkaido islands in Japan where the distance is close to 20 km. This is currently one of the most ambitious plans since the initial design considers a group of spectacular bridges in dimensions: in the centre, a suspension bridge with continuous two main spans of 4000 meters and lateral spans of 2000 meters, also suspension bridge of similar dimension of Akashi bridge, which holds the current world record. With the completion of this project, a group of four main islands of Japan will be totally connected by bridges.
