Computer aided optimum design of structures: applications

This book is the second volume edited with the papers presented at the first international conference on Computer Aided Optimum Design of Structures, OPTI89, hosted in Southampton. This book describes the most recent applications of structural optimization. The first section contains works on integrated designs on computer programs and methods to analyze complex structures and continuous mediums. The second section consists of the application of expert systems to structural optimization. In the following section, the optimization applications in probability analyses are discussed. The last section is dedicated to optimization techniques in technical norms.
