Computer aided optimum design of structures: recent advances

This book is one of the two volumes that contain the papers sent to the first international conference of Computer Aided Optimum Design on Structures, OPTI89, hosted in Southampton in June, 1989. In the publication, the high level achievements are described through several documents written by some of the most active researchers in the field.
