The recent advances in computer visualization of objects and physical phenomena have been truly remarkable. Using these possibilities, virtual universes can be generated to completely simulate situations in wide range of fields such as architecture, engineering and other disciplines. To discuss the most recent advances in this field, the 1st Internacional Conference on Visulalization and Intelligent Design in Engineering and Architecture, VIDEA 93 was organized in Southampton in April, 1993. The presented papers are organized into seven sections: Rendering techniques, Animation, Virtual Reality, Computational Geometry, Fluid Flow Simulation and Visualization, Architecture and Urban planning, and Engineering Applications.
